We provide high-quality Uganda begonia to the local and export market. We source the raw fresh cut Uganda begonias from family growers from Uganda.

Begonia is a part of a genus that is made up of as many as over a thousand and seven hundred species. It is common to find in the tropics as well as the subtropical regions. The most common of Uganda begonia is the Begonia geranioides tuberous species which has other subspecies including the B. sonderiana.

Besides the flower, the plant has a fruit that is a triple-winged capsule that dries out and naturally expels its seeds. The plant’s name comes two areas still grow the tropical blooms in various quantities and hundreds of species. So far Uganda, an upcoming source, produces different colored types in red, yellow, white, orange and salmon, among other colors.  We source our Uganda begonia from the Ruwenzori mountain area of the western parts of the country next to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)’s border.

Here, the plant grows in the wild but farmers also cultivate it in their orchards. We derive our blossoms from family growers who farm them under Global Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) conditions.

We harvest Uganda begonias by cutting them either an inch above the tuber’s formation area or uprooting them entirely with the tubers intact. In the former case, we retain the tuber for growing by keeping it in a cool, dry place where it can store for months unspoiled. For the entire plant, we offer it in potted form or wrap it in newsprint after removing the soil.

We store the tubers temporarily in plastic receptacles in moss culture where they can remain fresh before shipment.  We pack Uganda begonia in its entirety inclusive of the tubers, the supporting stem and the blossoms on top. We wrap them either in newsprint sheets or plastic sleeves per piece. We then lay them carefully in flower crates. We stack them in one layer such that no flower is above the next and there will be little possibility of crushing or low ventilation. Each package comes with a clear label with such statistics as the number of stems and the country of origin.   We store Uganda begonias under low temperatures of between 4° and 10° Celsius. This temperature range prevents the flowers from becoming dehydrated.  Our transportation mode maintains this same temperature through our special delivery vans with modified environment interiors.   In short, if you would like a shipment of Uganda begonias, do not hesitate to get in touch with your reliable suppliers. We source our blooms from designate locales in the country where they grow under Global Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) conditions. We are also your go-to whenever you need a quantity that reflects your exact shipment size which we perform throughout the year. We also keep the prices low so that we can meet your budgetary allocation. Make your order today!
