Description

Pouteria butyrocarpa (also called Caimito, among many other common names) is a species of flowering tree in the Sapotaceae family. It is native to Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela, and is found in tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests. It grows up to 10 m tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 15 cm.
