Description
Eremophila polyclada (also called Many-winged Emu Bush, among many other common names) is a small shrub or tree that grows up to 4 m tall. It is native to Australia and is found in dry sclerophyll forests and woodlands. The leaves are narrow and linear, and the flowers are yellow in colour.
Uses & Benefits
Eremophila polyclada is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and for landscaping. It is also used for windbreaks and as a screening plant. The plant has a long flowering period and is attractive to bees and other insects.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Eremophila polyclada is a small, white, bell-shaped flower with five petals. The seed is a small, black, rounded seed. The seedlings are small, green, and have a single, oval-shaped leaf.
Cultivation and Propagation
Eremophila polyclada can be propagated from seed or cuttings. To propagate from seed, sow the seeds on the surface of a well-draining potting mix and keep moist. To propagate from cuttings, take 4-6 inch cuttings from the tips of the stems and place them in a potting mix. Keep the cuttings moist and in a warm, bright location until they have rooted.
