Vangueria randii (also called Rand's Medlar, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree, growing up to 4 m tall. It is native to tropical Africa, from Ethiopia and Somalia south to South Africa, and is found in a variety of habitats, from moist forest margins to dry bushland.
