Strychnos mattogrossensis (also called Matto Grosso Strychnos, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree that grows up to 8 meters tall. It is native to tropical regions of South America, from Colombia to northern Argentina. It grows in a variety of habitats, from dry forests to wetter areas with more rainfall.
