Description
Taraxacum pedrottii (also called Pedrotti's Dandelion, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae family. It has yellow flowers and is native to the Alps. It grows in meadows, pastures and grasslands.
Cultivation and Propagation
Taraxacum pedrottii is an evergreen perennial that grows best in full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Propagation is usually done by division of the rootball in spring or early summer. Cuttings can also be taken in late summer or early fall.
Where to Find Taraxacum pedrottii
Taraxacum pedrottii is native to Italy and can be found in the wild in the Abruzzo, Apulia, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Marche, Molise, Piedmont, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany, Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, Umbria, and Veneto regions.
