Description
Ocotea vanderwerffii (also called Vanderwerff's Ocotea, among many other common names) is a species of tree native to Mexico. It is an evergreen tree that can reach up to 20 m in height, with smooth bark and small white flowers. It is found in the tropical dry forest of the Pacific coast of Mexico, in the states of Guerrero, Oaxaca and Michoacán.
Cultivation and Propagation
Ocotea vanderwerffii is a small, globular cactus native to the southwestern United States. It is easy to propagate from seed, and can also be propagated from offsets. It prefers full sun and well-draining soil. It is drought tolerant and can tolerate temperatures down to 0°F (-18°C).

Ocotea vanderwerffii is native to Ecuador and can be found in the provinces of Azuay, Bolivar, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, El Oro, Galapagos, Guayas, Los Rios, Manabi, Morona-Santiago, Napo, Pastaza, Pichincha, and Tungurahua.
