Beilschmiedia peninsularis (also called 'Tasmanian laurel', among many other common names) is an evergreen shrub or small tree with an upright habit, growing to a height of 8m. It has oblong leaves that are dark green above and paler beneath. It is native to the Malay Peninsula and is found in wet sclerophyll forests and rainforest margins.
