Prioria gilbertii (also called 'Gilbert's Ironwood', among many other common names) is a small tree or shrub native to the Caribbean and Central America. It has a wide, spreading crown and grows up to 10 meters tall. Its bark is smooth and gray, and its leaves are simple, alternate, and oblong. It prefers moist, well-drained soils in tropical and subtropical climates.
