Description
Minuartia patula (also called Spreading Sandwort, among many other common names) is an annual herbaceous plant with a slender, erect stem. It is native to Europe, Asia, and North America. It is found in dry, sandy habitats, such as dunes, sandstone cliffs, and rocky slopes.
Cultivation and Propagation
Minuartia patula is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial that is native to the western United States. It grows in dry, rocky soils and can tolerate full sun to partial shade. Propagation is best done by division of the clumps in spring or early summer. Seeds can also be collected and sown in the fall or spring.
