Hieracium nesaeum (also called Nesa Hawkweed, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the mountains of Europe. It has a basal rosette of leaves and yellow flowers that bloom in the summer. It grows in rocky meadows and pastures.

Cultivation and Propagation

Hieracium nesaeum can be propagated by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in spring in a cold frame and the seedlings transplanted into individual pots when they are large enough to handle. Division can be done in spring or autumn. Larger clumps can be divided using two forks to tease out the smaller divisions. Replant them straight away into individual pots and grow them on in light shade in the greenhouse for at least their first winter.
