Description

Tsuga mertensiana (also called Mertens' hemlock, among many other common names) is a species of coniferous tree. It is native to the western United States and Canada. It grows to a height of 25–35 m and has a conical crown with horizontal branches. Its bark is gray-brown and scaly. Its leaves are needle-like and are arranged in pairs.
