Description
Macromitrium viticulosum (also called Viticulate Mitre-moss, among many other common names) is a species of moss in the family Orthotrichaceae. It is a small, yellow-green moss with a distinctive viticulate (vine-like) surface. It is native to Europe, Asia, and North America, and is found in moist, shady habitats.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Macromitrium viticulosum has small, white flowers that are borne in clusters. The seeds are small and black, and the seedlings are small and green.
Cultivation and Propagation
Macromitrium viticulosum can be propagated by spores, as well as by division of the rhizome. It prefers moist, shady locations and can be grown in both aquatic and terrestrial environments.
