                        Description
                        
                            Trichosalpinx ballatrix (also called Ballatrix's Butterfly Orchid, among many other common names) is a species of orchid found in Central and South America. It has a single, long-lasting leaf and a single, terminal inflorescence. It grows in humid forests and in open areas, at elevations of up to 1,500 m.
