Description
Thrixspermum denticulatum (also called 'Toothed Thrixspermum', among many other common names) is a species of orchid in the family Orchidaceae. It is found in the tropical and subtropical regions of India, China, Japan, and Southeast Asia. It grows in shady, wet, and humid habitats, such as forests, grasslands, and riverbanks.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Thrixspermum denticulatum has white flowers with yellow stamens and small, round seeds. The seedlings have a single, upright stem with toothed leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Thrixspermum denticulatum can be propagated by division or seed. It prefers moist, well-drained soil and partial shade. It is hardy to USDA Zone 8 and can tolerate temperatures down to 10°F (-12°C). It can be grown in containers or in the garden.
