                        Description
                        
                            Telipogon tsipiriensis (also called 'Tsipiri Telipogon', among many other common names) is a species of orchid native to Colombia and Ecuador. It is found in montane forests and grasslands, growing at elevations between 1,400 and 2,200 meters.                        
                     
                                
                                    
                        Uses & Benefits
                        
                            Telipogon tsipiriensis has been used in traditional medicine to treat fever and as a diuretic. It is also used as an ornamental plant in gardens.                        
                     
                                
                                                    
                        Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
                        
                            Telipogon tsipiriensis has small, yellowish-green flowers that are clustered in groups of three. The seeds are small, oval-shaped and black in color.                         Cultivation and Propagation
                        
                            Telipogon tsipiriensis is a shrub or small tree that can grow up to 5 m tall. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and can tolerate light shade. Propagation is by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained medium and kept moist until germination occurs. Cuttings should be taken from semi-hardwood and treated with a rooting hormone before being planted in a well-drained medium.
