                        Description
                        
                            Smithsonia straminea (also called Stramineous Smithsonia, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Gesneriaceae. It is a shrub with opposite, ovate-lanceolate leaves and white flowers with yellow throats. It is native to the Andes of Colombia and Ecuador, and is found in montane forests.
