Description
Scaphyglottis grandiflora (also called 'Large-flowered', among many other common names) is a species of orchid native to Central and South America. It is a terrestrial plant with a single, upright stem and a single, large, elliptic leaf at the base. The plant grows in humid forests and grasslands, and blooms in the summer.
Uses & Benefits

Flower, Seeds and Seedlings

Cultivation and Propagation
Scaphyglottis grandiflora can be propagated by seed or division. It prefers a moist, well-drained soil in partial shade. It can tolerate full sun, but may require more frequent watering in this situation. It is best to water the plant deeply and then allow the soil to dry out before watering again.
