Description
Ponerorchis cucullata (also called 'Cucullata Orchid', among many other common names) is a small terrestrial orchid with a single, erect, leafy stem. It is native to China, Japan, Korea, and the Russian Far East. It grows in shady, moist, grassy places, often near streams and in wet meadows.

Ponerorchis cucullata is an epiphytic orchid that can be grown in a pot or mounted on a piece of wood or bark. It prefers bright, indirect light and high humidity. Water regularly and fertilize monthly during the growing season. Propagate by division of the rhizome.
