Description

Platylepis xerostele (also called Xerostele, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It has a rounded crown and grows up to 10 feet tall. Its leaves are alternate, lanceolate, and have a whitish underside. It grows in dry, rocky, and sandy soils in desert scrub, chaparral, and pinyon-juniper woodlands.
