                        Description
                        
                            Gastrodia silentvalleyana (also called 'Silent Valley Gastrodia', among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Orchidaceae. It is an epiphytic orchid, with a creeping rhizome and flowers that are white. It is native to India, where it grows in moist forests and along streams.

                            The flower of Gastrodia silentvalleyana is white, with a yellow center. The seed is small, round and black.                         Cultivation and Propagation
                        
                            Gastrodia silentvalleyana is an epiphytic orchid that grows in partial shade. It prefers moist, well-drained soil. Propagation is done by division of the clumps or by seed. Plant the clumps in the spring, about 4 inches deep and 4 inches apart.
