Description
Gastrodia abscondita (also called 'Hidden Orchid', among many other common names) is a small, terrestrial orchid found in India, Nepal, and Bhutan. It has a single, fleshy, ovate leaf and a single flower with a white or yellowish-green labellum. It grows in humid forests, usually on the ground.

The flower of Gastrodia abscondita is white with a yellow lip and a short spur. The seed is a small, round, black seed with a hard outer coating. The seedlings are small and have a single, upright stem with two leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Gastrodia abscondita is a terrestrial orchid native to Southeast Asia. It can be propagated through division of the rhizome or by seed. It prefers a well-drained soil and bright, indirect light. It should be watered regularly, but not allowed to become soggy. Fertilize monthly during the growing season.
