Description
Dendrobium vanleeuwenii (also called 'Vanleeuwenii' and 'Vanleeuwenii Dendrobium', among many other common names) is an epiphytic orchid species native to Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos. It has long, thin stems with many small, white flowers. It grows in humid, tropical forests, often on trees.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Dendrobium vanleeuwenii is white with a yellow labellum, and has a sweet scent. The seed is small and round, and the seedlings are small and green.
Cultivation and Propagation
Dendrobium vanleeuwenii can be propagated by division or by seed. It prefers bright light and warm temperatures, and should be grown in a well-draining medium such as bark or sphagnum moss. Water regularly, but allow the medium to dry out between waterings.
