Description
Dendrobium fallacinum (also called 'Fallacious Dendrobium', among many other common names) is an epiphytic orchid species native to China, Taiwan, and Vietnam. It is found growing on trees in moist forests at elevations of 500-1500 m. This species has a creeping rhizome and thin, upright stems. The leaves are narrowly lanceolate, and the flowers are small, white or pinkish, and fragrant.
Cultivation and Propagation
Dendrobium fallacinum is an epiphytic or lithophytic orchid that grows to a height of 1 m (3.3 ft). It prefers a sunny position in well-drained soil. Propagation is by division or by seed, which should be sown in a warm, humid environment.
Where to Find Dendrobium fallacinum
Dendrobium fallacinum can be found in the tropical rainforests of New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and the Bismarck Archipelago.
