Cultivation and Propagation
Cyrtochilum patens is a terrestrial orchid native to Central and South America. It can be grown in a pot or in the ground in a shady area. It prefers a well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter. It should be watered regularly during the growing season and kept slightly moist during the winter. Propagation is done by division of the rhizomes or by seed. Seeds should be sown on a well-drained medium and kept in a warm, humid environment until germination occurs.
