Description
Strychnos kasengaensis (also called 'Kasenga strychnos' and 'Kasenga monkey-flower', among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree, typically growing up to 6 m in height. It is native to Central America and the Caribbean, and is found in tropical dry forests, tropical moist forests, and tropical wet forests.
Cultivation and Propagation
Strychnos kasengaensis is a small to medium-sized tree, growing up to 15 m tall. It is found in tropical and subtropical rainforests, from sea level up to 1,500 m. Propagation is by seed, which should be sown in a well-drained, sandy soil mix. Germination is usually rapid, and seedlings should be transplanted when they reach 10-15 cm in height.
