Lepidosperma humile (also called 'Humble Sword-sedge', among many other common names) is a species of plant in the family Cyperaceae. It is a small herb, growing up to 10 cm tall. It is native to the temperate regions of Australia, and is found in open grasslands and disturbed areas.

Lepidosperma humile is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks. It is also used as a windbreak and for erosion control.

Cultivation and Propagation

Lepidosperma humile can be propagated by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in spring in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the cold frame for at least their first winter. Plant out into their permanent positions in late spring or early summer, after the last expected frosts. Cuttings of half-ripe wood, 5 - 8cm with a heel, July/August in a frame. Plant out in the following spring.
