                        Description
                        
                            Vernonanthura santacruzensis (also called Santa Cruz Ironweed, among many other common names) is an annual herbaceous plant that typically grows to a height of 0.5–1 m. It is native to Mexico and is found in open, disturbed habitats such as roadsides and pastures. It has a slender, erect stem and lance-shaped leaves that are arranged alternately along the stem. The flowers are purple and are borne in a dense, terminal inflorescence.
