                            Vernonanthura ferruginea (also called 'Rusty-Leaved Thistle', among many other common names) is a biennial plant that has a height of 0.3-0.6 m. It has a basal rosette of leaves and a single stem with a terminal capitulum of flowers. It is native to the Mediterranean region and is found in grasslands, meadows, and open woodlands.
