                        Description
                        
                            Vellozia peripherica (also called Peripheral Vellozia, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the Velloziaceae family. It is a small, herbaceous perennial with a stemless, grass-like habit. It is native to Central and South America, where it is found in moist, tropical forests. It grows in moist, shady areas, such as along the edges of streams and in wet meadows.
