Taraxacum platypecidium (also called Large-bracted Dandelion, among many other common names) is a perennial plant native to the Caucasus region. It grows to a height of 0.5-1 m and has a basal rosette of leaves. The leaves are oblong-lanceolate, with a spiny margin. The flowers are yellow and solitary, and the fruits are achenes.
