Description
Taraxacum haematopus (also called Taraxacum, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to Europe and Asia. It has a single stem that grows up to 1m tall, and is covered in small, white hairs. The leaves are long and narrow, and the flowers are small and yellow. It grows in dry, rocky habitats in Europe and Asia.
Cultivation and Propagation
Taraxacum haematopus is a low-growing, clump-forming perennial that is native to Europe. It typically grows to 12-18” tall and features small, daisy-like flowers (to 1” diameter) with yellow rays and yellow center disks. It is best grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. It is tolerant of a wide range of soils and will spread by rhizomes to form colonies. It is a good choice for rock gardens, edging, borders or ground cover. Propagate by division or seed.
