                            Symphyotrichum chapmanii (also called Chapman's aster, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the southeastern United States. It has a basal rosette of leaves and produces white to pink flowers in the late summer and early fall. It grows in dry, sandy soils in open woodlands, prairies, and roadsides.
