Description

Streptoglossa liatroides (also called 'Liatris', 'Blazing Star', 'Gayfeather', and 'Button Snakewort', among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the southeastern United States. It has a tall, slender stem with narrow, lance-shaped leaves and a terminal spike of purple flowers. It grows in dry, sandy soils in open woodlands, prairies, and savannas.
