                        Description
                        
                            Stephanbeckia plumosa (also called Plumose Stephanbeckia, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to South America. It has a basal rosette of leaves and a flowering stem that grows up to 30 cm tall. It grows in open grasslands and dry forests.                        
                     
                                
                                    
                        Uses & Benefits
                        
                            Stephanbeckia plumosa is used in traditional medicine to treat fever, headache, and stomach ailments, as well as for dyeing fabrics and making paper. It is also used to make herbal teas and tinctures.

                            The flowers of Stephanbeckia plumosa are small, yellow and star-shaped. The seeds are small and black. The seedlings are small, with a single pair of cotyledons and a single pair of leaves.                        
                     
                                
                
                
                                    
                        Cultivation and Propagation
                        
                            Stephanbeckia plumosa is a terrestrial fern that can be propagated from spores or by division of the rhizomes. It prefers moist, well-drained soils in partial shade and can tolerate full sun. It is best grown in a sheltered spot with some protection from strong winds.
