                        Description
                        
                            Sonchus asper (also called rough sow-thistle, among many other common names) is an annual herb native to the Mediterranean region. It grows in dry, sunny, and rocky habitats, and has a basal rosette of leaves and a single flower head with a yellow disc and purple ray florets.
