                        Description
                        
                            Shinnersia rivularis (also called Streambank ruellia, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the south-central United States. It has a shallow, fibrous root system and grows up to 1 m tall. Its leaves are opposite, lanceolate and covered in short hairs. It produces white flowers which are grouped in a dense, globular inflorescence. It grows in moist soils along streams, rivers and other water bodies.
