Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Senecio erythrophyllus is a yellow-orange color with a daisy-like shape. The seeds are small, brown and oblong-shaped. The seedlings are small and have a rosette of narrow, pointed leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Senecio erythrophyllus is a perennial plant that can be propagated by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in spring in a cold frame and should germinate in 1-3 weeks. When large enough to handle, seedlings should be transplanted into individual pots and grown on in the greenhouse for their first winter. Division in spring is also possible, but it is best to pot up the divisions in a cold frame until they are established. Plant out in early summer.
