                        Cultivation and Propagation

Saussurea laniceps is a perennial plant that can be propagated by seed or division. It prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soil. It can be grown in a variety of soil types, but it will do best in a rich, loamy soil. It is best to sow the seeds in the fall or early spring. The seeds should be sown in a shallow furrow and lightly covered with soil. The seedlings will emerge in the spring and can be thinned to the desired spacing. Division can be done in the spring or fall. The plants should be divided into clumps of 3-5 plants and replanted in the desired location.
