Description
Saussurea devendrae (also called 'Devendrae Saussurea', among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the mountains of Central and South America. It has a thick, fleshy stem and long, narrow, alternate leaves. It is found in moist, shady areas, such as in forests and along streams.
Cultivation and Propagation
Saussurea devendrae is a perennial herb that grows up to 1m in height. It is native to the Himalayas and is hardy in USDA zones 5-8. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Propagation is done by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in spring and divisions should be taken in late summer or early fall.
