                        Description
                        
                            Onopordum mesatlanticum (also called Atlantic Cotton Thistle, among many other common names) is a biennial plant in the Asteraceae family. It has a rosette of leaves and a single flower head with purple ray florets and yellow disc florets. It is native to Europe, North Africa and parts of Asia, and grows in grasslands, meadows and pastures.
