Gynoxys violacea (also called Purple-flowered Gynoxys, among many other common names) is an annual herbaceous plant native to the Andes of Peru and Bolivia. It grows to a height of about 30 cm and has purple flowers. It is found in dry grasslands and shrublands, and is adapted to a wide range of temperatures and altitudes.
