Gutierrezia gayana is a perennial, herbaceous plant native to the Caucasus region. It is easy to propagate from cuttings or by division. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is drought tolerant and can tolerate temperatures as low as -20°C (-4°F). It can be propagated by seed, but it is not recommended as the seedlings may not be true to the parent plant.
