Description
Echinops procerus (also called Tall Globe Thistle, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to Europe and Asia. It grows to a height of 0.5 to 1 meter and has a woody stem. The leaves are alternate, lanceolate, and have spiny margins. It is found in dry, open areas, such as grasslands, scrublands, and roadsides.
Cultivation and Propagation
Echinops procerus is a perennial plant which can be propagated by seed or cuttings. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade. It is best cultivated in a sunny position in a well-drained soil. It can tolerate a wide range of soils, including clay soils, but prefers a neutral to slightly alkaline soil.
