                            Centaurea arenaria (also called Sand Knapweed, among many other common names) is an annual or biennial plant that grows up to 30 cm tall. It has a basal rosette of leaves with spiny margins and small yellow flower heads. Native to Europe, it is found in sandy soils, dry grasslands, and coastal dunes.
