Zingiber pachysiphon (also called thick-stemmed ginger, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to tropical Asia. It has a rhizome that is ovoid in shape and has a yellowish-brown color. It grows in moist and shady habitats, such as rainforests and tropical forests.
