Stachytarpheta trimeni (also called Blue Porterweed, among many other common names) is an erect, annual herb that grows up to 1 m tall. It is native to the Caribbean, Central America, and northern South America. It is found in open, disturbed areas, roadsides, and disturbed forests.
Cultivation and Propagation
Stachytarpheta trimeni is a perennial herbaceous plant that is best grown in moist, well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade. It is propagated by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in spring or early summer in a cold frame or in pots. Division can be done in spring or autumn. The plant can also be propagated by cuttings taken in late spring or early summer.
