Horsfieldia sterilis (also called Sterile Indian Bay Leaf, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree with a dense crown and a greyish-brown bark. It is native to India, Sri Lanka, and the Andaman Islands. It is found in tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests, moist montane forests, and in disturbed areas.
