Description
Tectaria athyrioides (also called Tectaria athyrioides, among many other common names) is a fern species native to Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Ecuador. It is found in wet montane forests, often on mossy tree trunks. It has lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate fronds, with a length of up to 30 cm and a width of up to 4 cm.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Tectaria athyrioides has small, yellowish-green flowers that are arranged in clusters. The seeds are small, dark brown and contain a single embryo. The seedlings are small and have a single, long-stalked leaf.
