Description
Sphagnum typicum (also called Typicum's peat moss, among many other common names) is a species of moss in the genus Sphagnum. It is a small, yellow-green moss with a short stem and small leaves. It is native to the Northern Hemisphere, and is found in wet, acidic habitats in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Uses & Benefits
Sphagnum typicum is used as a soil conditioner and mulch in gardens and farms, as well as for erosion control, water filtration, and insulation. It is also used as a packing material for shipping delicate items, and as a component in composting and potting mixes.
